There are three "Jizo"s placed at the jizo temple near the top of the Futamura-san mountain, the highest place in Toyoake. One of the three jizos was headless. Legend has it that a long time ago, when a traveler was attacked by a bandit called Chohan Kumasaka, the jizo sacrificed himself for the traveler having his head cut off, and that made the bandit regenerate himself and he disappeared from that point.

The kids from Toyoake handcrafted the faces of the courageous jizos. They used their imagination fully and created the jizos with beautiful faces.
