"Kyuuten and the Fox" is a humorous folk tale from Nisshin, of a smart little boy called Kyuuten and an elfin fox outwit each other. Kyuuten was always beaten by the fox. One night, Kyuuten was having a sleepless night again because the fox was rattling the paper sliding doors and showing many faces on them saying "Kyuuten, Kyuuten is trapped..."

The kids from Nisshin made the objet d'art of the amusing scene. They drew the foxes with colored pencils on a black Japanese paper and the two paper-cutout artists cut them out with paper cutters. The kids really enjoyed watching how their drawings were cut out. Each fox face was unique with different expression and seemed as if saying "Kyuuten, Kyuuten..." in a droll voice.
